I started my love of nutrition in college after gaining some weight and having some health issues related to IBS. It was fascinating to me that what I ate could affect my stomach issues and how I felt. I loved the idea of healing naturally with lifestyle changes. Yoga was also very helpful for dealing with stress, which was a major trigger for my IBS symptoms. Fitness was also an outlet for stress for me and it continues to be. I started teaching group exercise classes back in 2002. I started out teaching cardio kickboxing to college students and currently really love to teach senior/active older adult yoga and exercise classes. Along my own health journey, I found yoga practices of breathing, meditation, relaxation, and self awareness to really help improve my health. I decided that I wanted to share the practices of yoga so I took a life changing 200 hour yoga training. Many years later I completed a 300 hour yoga training and then recently completed a Yoga Therapy Training. In between all that I have healed from Lyme disease with co-infections from a tick bite. I know my yoga practice played a huge role in my recovery. Transformation to health and healing the body and mind does not happen quickly, it is a journey that continues to evolve for me as well as for my clients. I am here for you as a guide when you are ready to make healthy changes to your life and find optimal health and healing.
